REST IN PEACE PATRICK CONNAUGHTON

Everybody at Team Clev are deeply sorry for the family, friends and loved ones of Patrick Connaughton following the sad news of his recent passing.

Patrick lived and breathed boxing and his commitment to boxing will be missed by the sport’s community.

Originally from the town of Sligo in West Ireland, Patrick moved to London where he began boxing as an amateur before a move to London in 1960. After moving to the other side of the Atlantic and spending time in New York, Patrick settled in Toronto where he became involved again in boxing – training and managing boxers from contenders to champions.

Patrick later moved to Cardiff and co-promoted a show in 2008 with Nino Spiteri, the two were planning to promote more shows but Patrick fell ill and the plans were derailed. Aged 68, Patrick finally succumb to his illness on May 27th at Hole Towers Hospice. His funeral will be held at Thornhill Crematorium, Cardiff, on Monday, June 11 at 10.30am.
