There is still 5 weeks to countdown until the The Homecoming of WBO world light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly but there are just 750 tickets left for the Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff on February 25th.

With not having fought at home in Wales for 4 years Cleverly admits he wasn’t sure of his true fan base but the brilliant reaction from the Welsh public has been fantastic. He said, “It’s kind of difficult to gauge my fan base really because I haven’t fought at home for such a long time.

There’s still 5 weeks to go until the fight and it’s looking to sell out already, that’s very impressive that people are coming out to support me like that.”

“It means a lot, it really does mean a lot. Hopefully I can return the favour and put on a great performance for the public”, Cleverly continued, “Thanks to all and everyone who’ve bought tickets. I’m going to make it a great and exciting night for you all, it’s going to top off the weekend with a great night for Welsh sport.”

The same weekend that Clev comes home is a busy time for Welsh sports with the national rugby team and Cardiff City FC facing big fixtures – and Cleverly is keen to play his part in the weekend of Welsh sport.

He said, “It’s a big day for Welsh sport. We’ve got Wales-England in the Six Nations and hopefully we have Cardiff City the following day in the final of the Carling Cup if they can overturn the deficit against Crystal Palace in the second leg on Tuesday. It’s a massive weekend for us all and I hope we can make it a real, successful and exciting weekend.”
