Cardiff City ticket office are now selling tickets for The Homecoming of Britain’s only undefeated world champion Nathan Cleverly.

On February 25th Bluebird Cleverly fights in his home city of Cardiff at the Motorpoint Arena (former C.I.A.) against American Tommy Karpency. Cardiff City ticket office (0845 345 1400) has a limited number of tickets priced at £50, buy now to avoid disappointment. The last time Cleverly boxed on home soil was in 2007 when he beat Joey Vegas on points on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe’s super-middleweight unification win in front of 57,000 fans at the Millennium Stadium. Since then Cleverly has won Commonwealth, British, European and world titles fighting in a range of locations including Las Vegas, London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Widnes and Swindon.

A win for Cleverly on February 25th could set up a defence of his WBO world light-heavyweight at Cardiff City Stadium with promoter Frank Warren expressing an interest in staging a summer show there.

“I would like to see Nathan fight again in early June at Cardiff City’s ground in a big open-air show and if Carl Froch wants to step up a weight and fight him then I’d take that fight in a heartbeat, he’s made for Nathan,” Said Warren.
Cleverly commented, “Frank’s got big plans for me and to fight at Cardiff City’s ground would be a dream. I’m still only 24 and time is on my side to achieve a lot of things. I know the big super-fights will come, I’ve just got to keep putting on good displays and we are progressively getting there,”

The undercard features former world champion Enzo Maccarinelli and Britain’s only ever world amateur champion Frankie Gavin. There’s also support from some of Wales best up-and-coming prospects including Liam Williams, Lewis Rees, Francis Luke Robinson and Craig Evans.
